Flammability Testing
| Although flammability testing is most commonly used to
determine if textiles used in apparel are dangerously flammable, there
are many other applications where this technique could provide useful
information. One example would be the comparison of combustible
materials before and after a surface treatment or coating has
purposely been applied. Another application would be to evaluate
workers' clothing before and after they work with chemicals that may
affect their garments' flammability. These tests require a
flammability tester such as the one developed by Unified Engineering,
which is a modified version of the type specified in 16 CFR Part
1610. Call for more information on a particular application. |
